FROM WESTERN NEW JERSEY
(Routes 287, 80, 280 East & PA)
- Take Route 287 to Route 80 East to Route 46 East (exit 53) or Route 80 East to Route 46 East (exit 53) or Route 46 East
- Take Route 46 east through Totowa and Little Falls. Pass exits for Browertown Road, Great Notch and Lower Notch Roads. You will see large, green, overhead signs for Route 3/New York.
- Take exit for Valley Road.
- At the stop sign, go right on to Valley Road.
- Go up the hill to the traffic light at Normal Avenue (Montclair State U.) and turn right.
- Go over the train tracks to the traffic light and turn left onto Upper Mountain Avenue.
Travel about 1/2 mile and Presby is located on the right, across from the public tennis courts.
280 EAST OR WEST
- Take the Exit 8 ramp leading North to Cedar Grove / Prospect Avenue.
- Go through major intersection of Prospect Ave. with Eagle Rock Avenue. You will pass Pal's Restaurant and the Pathmark/K-Mart Shopping Center on your left.
- Travel to next major intersection of Prospect with Bloomfield Avenue, Exxon on the left.
- Turn right at the light onto Bloomfield Avenue. Make second left onto Upper Mountain Avenue - across the street is a school playing field. Travel 2 miles.
(You have traveled one block too far if you get to the light at the Montclair Art Museum.)
BLOOMFIELD AVENUE EAST
- Travel through the Caldwells and Verona.
- Look for the Acura dealership on the left. This intersection is Prospect Avenue/Route 23/Pompton Avenue.
- Pass through this intersection and make your second left onto Upper Mountain Avenue. Travel approximately 2.5 miles.
FROM NEW YORK: ALL POINTS
LINCOLN TUNNEL/ROUTE 3 WEST
- Exit Route 3 West at Grove Street. At the stop sign at the top of the ramp, turn left.
- Go straight and when the huge cemetery is on your right, turn right at the traffic light onto Mt. Hebron Road.
- Pass through one traffic light at Valley Road, cross the RR tracks, go to the stop sign.
- Turn left on to Upper Mountain Avenue. Gardens will be on the right across from public tennis courts.
NEW YORK BY BUS
- Take the DeCamp Bus Line #66 from Port Authority.
- Get off at Valley Road and Laurel Place (Keil's Pharmacy).
- Walk up Laurel Place, over the train tracks, to Upper Mountain Avenue. Turn right and walk 2/10 mile. Gardens are on the left, across from public tennis courts.
NEW YORK BY TRAIN
- Take the NJ Transit Midtown Direct Montclair-Boonton Line from NY Penn Station. Get off at Mountain Avenue Station.
- Walk up Laurel Place, over the train tracks, to Upper Mountain Avenue. Turn right and walk 2/10 mile. Gardens are on the left, across from public tennis courts.
GEORGE WASHINGTON BRIDGE
- Pick up Garden State Parkway South via Route 80 West. Follow directions for GSP South.
HOLLAND TUNNEL
- Pick up directions for Route 280 West.
GARDEN STATE PKY NORTH
- Take the Garden State Parkway North to exit 151 -Watchung Avenue, Montclair.
- At the light at the top of the exit ramp, make a left turn onto Watchung Avenue.
- Take Watchung Ave. as far as it goes, at one point following it under a railroad trestle and bearing right on the continuation of Watchung Ave..
- At the "T" intersection (stop sign) turn right onto Upper Mountain Avenue. Travel about 3/4 mile. Gardens are on the left, across from public tennis courts.
GARDEN STATE PKY SOUTH
- Exit 154, Clifton. After paying toll, follow sign for Grove Street only.
- At the stop sign, turn left onto Grove Street. Go straight until the huge cemetery is on your right, then turn right at the traffic light onto Mt. Hebron Road.
- Pass through traffic light at Valley Road, and over the RR tracks.
- At the stop sign at the next intersection, turn left on to Upper Mountain Avenue. Gardens are on the right, across from public tennis courts.
WATCHUNG AVENUE WEST
- Take Watchung Ave. as far as it goes, at one point following it under a railroad trestle and bearing right on the continuation of Watchung Ave..
- At the "T" intersection (stop sign) turn right onto Upper Mountain Avenue. Travel about 1 mile.
BLOOMFIELD AVENUE WEST
· Turn right onto Upper Mountain Avenue, which is one block after the Montclair Art Museum. Travel approximately 2.5 miles.
VALLEY ROAD, CLIFTON
- At Montclair State University, turn right onto Normal Avenue.
- At the traffic light, turn left onto Upper Mountain Avenue.
NEW JERSEY TRANSIT LINE #28
- Take the #28 towards Montclair State Universtiy.
- Get off at Valley Road and Laurel Place (Keil's Pharmacy).
